THE FIRST OF THE GOODS

This is The
Good Pocket.

Your bag holds everything you need. It just has a habit of hiding it.

Lip balm at the bottom. Cables in a knot. Three pens, one of which works. And when you change bags, everything comes out and goes back in again.

The Good Pocket is a lightweight, washable pocket that makes the bag you already own work better. It moves from one bag to the next in one go, adapts to whatever you're carrying, and keeps the little things where you can actually find them.

Small enough to forget. Useful enough to miss.

OUR STORY

It started on a doorstep in the rain.

Too many wet evenings ended the same way. Sera, standing on her own doorstep, tipping out a whole bag to find her keys. So she made the thing she could not find, barely there, and folding down to the size of whatever was inside it.

She gave them to friends she loved. That is when it took on a life of its own.

One of them was Sioux, who had spent a decade designing homewares for the shelves at Fortnum & Mason and the tables of royals and dignitaries. When she said it was good, that meant something.

Sera came with the vision and the first pockets. Everything since, we have built together.

THE EARLY CARRIERS

Travelling without us.

The first pockets were gifts, made for friends and handed over just to share something we had made.

Then one friend, a committed introvert, was on a train when a stranger struck up a conversation about her pocket. She was mortified, but plucked up the courage to proudly tell them where it came from.

The pockets kept going further, and it kept happening. Wherever our friends went, the pockets went too, festivals, lidos, Iceland, Greenland, Ibiza, Mexico, and plenty of places we have lost track of, carrying wet swimming kit, cameras, cables, passports and money.

Better travelled than most of us, and they rarely came home without a story, a compliment, or a curious once-over.

HOW WE DESIGN

Banish the monotony.

A good life is made up of ordinary days. We think they deserve more than black, grey or beige.

In 1965 an advertising executive named Mary Wells looked at a fleet of identical planes and prescribed colour, all of it. Seven aircraft, seventeen thousand redesigned items, and a brief that said destroy the monotony. Sixty years on we're picking the same fight, on a much smaller scale, in the bag on your shoulder.

So we make things with colour chosen deliberately and stripes drawn for the object they sit on. Styles for trains, planes, boardrooms and beaches, commutes and weekends.

Never grey.
